Setting up CentOS5

I've had the DVD installer of CentOS5 lying around for a long time and I've finally decided to try it on an empty 20+gb partition on the rig im using.

Installation was fine and brain dead. The only thing one should really pay attention to is the partitioning part. A mistake could cost you all the data on your drive.

After initial setup, I installed the rpmforge repositories. You can do the same by visiting:
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rpmforge-release/
and downloading rpmforge-release-0.3.6-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm

To install it,I opened a terminal and went to the directory where I downloaded it and do:

rpm --install rpmforge-release-0.3.6-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm

I needed synergy(mouse/keyboard sharing) for CentOS5 so on the terminal, I did:

yum install synergy
